The Parks Service of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Service is responsible for the parks and reserves of the Network, for the visitors who use them, for the events held in them and for the permits that regulate organised activity within them.

With its establishment complete, the Service today launches its official website at parks.gov.vin. The site carries press releases and official statements, the register of parks and reserves, opening hours and site rules, the programme of public events, guidance on permits, and the Service's statistical releases.

The publication of the register of twelve parks and reserves, the opening of permit applications together with the autumn events programme, and the Service's first release of visitor statistics are the subject of separate announcements published today. Management plans for each reserve and the byelaws that will apply across all sites will be announced in the Newsroom once settled. General enquiries may be sent to contact@parks.gov.vin.
